I have a small cement stepping stones and i put them as a pathway around the pond to the pool. Than i put small pebbles in between each stepping stone. Now thats is nice out grass and weeds are coming up through the pebbles… Any suggestions!? Thanks!!
HI,Few choices really. One: lift all the stones and put down a ground cover (hardware store, garden center) and then relay the stones and pebbles. Or you could use ‘Round Up’ and very selectively kill what you don’t want by brushing it on to the unwanted plants/weeds. (wear gloves and use a shield — cardboard — to protect the good plants and from getting the stuff in the pond). If you don’t like ’round Up’ or don’t want to lift the stones you could use boiling water or a hand held steamer to kill the weeds. If you strip of the waxy coating on any green plant it can’t keep the moisture in and will dry up and DIE. Works for dandelions too. You could also cover the whole path with anything to block the sun and wait to kill the weed..might take to long though.
Best of luck.

Suggest to use Round-up

You can use a weedicide, but if u are not careful, it will kill other neibhouring plants also. Loosen the soil, and pluck out the grass and weeds. If this is done on a regular basis, the unwanted growth can be removed. Another solutioin is to have some variety of pure grass to fill the gaps in your rock garden, after u completely get rid of the weeds. It makes your garden maintenance easier and makes it look more beautiful.

Spray with Roundup (don’t get it on anything that you don’t want to kill) or pour boiling water on them.

Pull the weeds. Herbicides should be a last resort, and only for the most dangerous/invasive weeds (blackberry, ivy)..
To prevent future infestations, remove the gravel, and lay down weed barrier cloth. Don’t use black plastic, or you’ll have drainage problems. Replace the gravel on top of the barrier. You’ll still have weeds, but the roots will be shallow, and they’ll be easier to pull.

You can also use salt instead of chemicals
