   Don’t bother.
   We’ve got enough bl00dy tourists on coaches and with caravans on our roads thank you.

   Makes it nearly impossible to ride my bike at ridiculous speeds on the roads.

   Base yourself in St Austell, which is pretty much the middle of Cornwall, and there are buses and trains to pretty much everywhere.You don’t have to see it all in one trip, I have lived in Cornwall for 15 years now, and still havn’t seen it all.

   For art: St Ives. History: the many castles, Launceston, Tintagel, St Mawes, Pendennis, Lostwithiel. Fishing: Looe, Mevagissey, or any of the fishing villages. Landscape: Bodmin Moor, the North Coast (with towering cliffs), and the gentler South Coast. If you are independent, go to the cliffside Minack Theatre, between the Lizard and Penzance. On a sunny day there, the sea will be so blue, it looks as though it should be in Greece.
   I don’t think you will find the sort of tour you are looking for here in the Southwest. Our bus companies tend to aim upwards.
   If you look in the Saturday newspapers, you will find coach companies like Shearings advertising Westcountry holidays. Occasionally there will be day trips you can book locally, but they are usually run by organisations for their annual outing, and advertising is scant and local. If you go it alone, the best way would be to visit a nearby tourist centre, or travel agent.
