Do It Yourself Gardening and Landscape Design

Anyone have any ideas on how to use seashells in backyard landscaping?

We have a lot of them, and I’d like to use them in a display somehow, but have no idea where to begin. I searched the internet and found ideas for displaying one or a few shells, or displaying in jars, but no ideas for using them in the yard.

If you have so many that they could be used as mulch for a whole planting bed, then I would consider using them. On the other hand, if you intend to place a few here and there as decorations I would simply advise against it. Littering a garden or planting bed with garden gnomes, inscribed stones, windsocks, and other such schlock is terribly tacky. Don’t do that to your garden.
