I’m thinking about putting a pond into my garden. I have quite a big garden but wouldn’t want a very big pond. I would like a raised hexagonal (or similar) pond approx 4ft. square. How many fish could I keep in this and what care would they need? Filters, water changes etc. Help please, (constructive only!) as I’ve only had indoor goldfish before. If my idea isn’t feasible please just tell me and I’ll rethink my water feature idea! Also, could it have a small fountain of water in the middle. My idea came from something I saw in someone’s garden whilst I was walking the dog! Don’t know if they have fish in it though. Thanks.

This is what I have in mind
I’ve just answered your other question but forgot to say tell you that we have a fountain in ours as well, an electric one, not solar powered, they’re useless!
Put the fountain on a large, flat stone or something. Don’t rest it on the bottom or else it will keep getting blocked up with all the silt from the bottom.
You need to leave the pond for a couple of days after filling it before putting in your fish.
Also, don’t mess about with the water too much. Let it settle and it will become crystal clear eventually.
